Fluid Mechanics Demonstrations
This site collects hands-on fluid mechanics demonstrations designed and built by students in a fluid mechanics course at Rowan University. Each demo pairs a physical, 3D-printable build with the theory behind it: the governing equations, worked example problems, and a bill of materials so you can build your own.
The demos¶
Conservation of energy in a flowing fluid, demonstrated with 3D-printed Venturi tubes and a manometer.
A Pythagorean “greedy cup” that drains itself once filled past a critical height, demonstrating siphon action.
A syringe-driven hydraulic lift that shows how mechanical advantage comes from the ratio of piston areas.
